Nigel Skeels Projects

An experienced and talented web designer, developer and people manager, I have been working in new media for over 10 years. My qualifications include a First Class degree in Multimedia Systems and Fine Art, my work has been reviewed in leading web magazines and achieved acclaim internationally in the 2001 Europrix multimedia top talent awards. With extensive experience in both public sector and commercial environments, my work combines a wide range of technical, editorial and managerial skills with a strong visual aesthetic, an appreciation of usability principles and good practice techniques, and a keen awareness of editorial content.

My high-profile clients include the Hearst Digital, BBC, Dennis Publishing, The London Fire Brigade and commercial companies such as Mercedes Benz, Ford, Sony, Vauxhall, Seat, TK Maxx and many more.

I am currently looking for full-time permanent or long-term contract employment. You will find examples of my skills and experience ranging from corporate branding to graphic design, new media, website design multimedia and portal development using the Drupal CMS and Ezine/Digital edition development using the Ceros platform.

Brief:Ongoing contract as Flash developer to build monthly Ceros based ezine for Virgin media.

The ezine features much interactivity including various games and interactive features, these are programmed using flash actionscript and extended features of the Ceros platform API.

Brief: Design and build a creative advertorial page to promote the iMatch foundation cosmetics service. The advertorial featured video and interactivity to inform the user about how service iMatch works.

Brief: Design and program an interactive microsite to promote Australia a Baz Luhrmann film starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.

The client was keen that the microsite reflected the epic nature of the film and showed off some of the stunning visuals in the best possible way.

Brief:Design and build an interactive microsite to demonstrate the Triumph underwear range. Users should be able to select their own body shape which will trigger a selection of products suitable for their particular figure.

The videos should also be able to trigger sychronised accompanying media such as images and animated zooms of products, and keep a running total of the garments featured.

A main animated microsite acted as a hub page for various summer focused articles and a competition situated on the Handbag.com website.
